Standard boat insurance coverages in all states

The following coverages are the basis of all Progressive boat insurance policies:

  • Property damage liability coverage: May pay for damage to another boat, marina, dock, or other property if you're liable.
  • Bodily injury liability coverage: May pay for medical expenses if you're liable for injuries while on the water.
  • Wreckage removal coverage: May pay for the removal of your boat from the water in the event it sinks, and you're legally required to remove it.
  • Fuel spill: Covers legally required clean-up costs associated with spilled fuel, no matter how it happened.
  • Watersport coverage: Helps pay for medical costs, up to a certain limit, if guests are injured from water-tubing, water-skiing, and other related sports.

Boat comprehensive and collision coverages can be added to protect your boat against theft and physical damage and are often mandated by lenders if you finance or lease your boat. See more of Progressive's boat insurance coverages and learn if boat insurance is required.
